Common Commands in D/s

By Lady Hugs

Come: Submissive will immediately cease all activities and go to the dominant without hesitation/delay. This command can take the form of a hand-signal, a verbal command or a combination of both. It is NOT the command to have an orgasm
Assume Spot / Place / Rest: Interchangeable depending on preference, the most frequently used command. Upon hearing the command, the submissive will assume a comfortable position at the proper spot designated by the dominant. Typically, this will be at the dominant's left side
Silence: Eyes and head down and remain silent
Attend: Normally followed by a specific task or a person's name. Using this command, the submissive is directed to serve food/drink or perform other tasks as required/desired by the dominant. When a submissive is directed to attend another dominant, he/she will be of service to them, within negotiated limits, as if he/she would be serving their own dominant
Mingle: The submissive is free to socialize. He/she may interact with guests and fellow submissives. The submissive will remain alert for a recall to service from the dominant
Bring/Get: The submissive will note the directions/instructions and acquire the items specified to be brought directly back to the dominant. Submissive will not detour, mingle or delay enroute and will immediately present that item to the dominant
Fetch: Similar to the <Bring/Get> command, "Fetch" requires that the submissive use his/her mouth to retrieve the required item(s). The item to be fetched should be within reason, although it may challenge the sub's creativity.
Crawl: When given this command, submissive will crawl on hands and knees to a place directed by the dominant, without delay or hesitation. Once at that spot, the submissive will remain on hands and knees until otherwise directed
Open: On hearing this command, the submissive will make his/her genitals available to the visual/physical use of the dominant
Close: On hearing this command, the submissive will close off his/her genitals and sexual desires immediately. This word can also be used by the submissive to advise the dominant that an area of his/her body may be problematic, such as an open sore or other personal hygiene issue
Dismissed: The command for discontinued service. If the submissive is dismissed for the remainder of the day, the dominant will make sure that this is understood so that the submissive may attend to his/her personal affairs.
Follow: The submissive will take up position to the left of the dominant, approximately 2 to 4 paces back, as the dominant walks. Until needed to open a door or to move items out of the way, the sub's duty is to be watchful and attentive to potential problems, obstructions or person which may interfere with the fluid flow of the dominant about the room or on the way out of one
Display: Upon hearing this command, the submissive will display his/her body in a pre-determined style as selected by the dominant. The three most commonly used display positions are: English Classical, Modern Classical and Informal Display.
Down: The submissive will immediately drop to the floor, face down. Arms positioned to the side, legs together and cheek to the floor, facing the dominant. Submissive will remain in this position until released via a subsequent command.
Down-Back: Submissive will immediately drop to the floor onto his/her back, arms to the side, legs together and face up.
Back/Front Cuff Restrict: Submissive will immediately bring his/her arms to the small of the back or forward to the waist (as appropriate). Wrists will be placed together to be bound or cuffed
Worship: This command involves only kissing a part of the body as designated by the dominant, such as feet or hands. The submissive will not move off the designated area being "worshipped" and will refrain from licking/sucking/etc
Service: Not to be confused with Food Service The dominant will specify where the submissive will service, but this command is most commonly associated with sexually pleasuring the dominant in a specific location of the body. Unlike the command to "Worship", Service does not include kissing
Food Service: The command usually associated with private food service at the home, such as to serve dinner to the dominant and guest(s). Submissive will properly seat the dominant first and then (according to rank) the guests, women first. The submissive will be on duty as servant and will not eat during this time
Guard: This command assigns the submissive the duty to "guard" the dominant's possessions/person from unwanted contact or attention. Most commonly used by female dominants with male submissives to fend off physical contact and/or unwanted attention
Go / Leave: The submissive will immediately cease performing whatever task/service is in progress and return to his/her rest spot (unless the command is followed by a further directive)
