Stone Angel
Step by Step

There is no destination.

There is no BDSM nirvana we strive for.

There is no end of the road.

We live for the journey, for the path, for the quest. It is in the learning we are defined and recreated as we wish to be. To live your life in hopes of one day reaching total understanding is to live it for nothing. We change and evolve and try and fail and rise up to try again. This is life. There is no magical land of perfection.

Each path we walk in life changes us. Each step is part of our journey and no matter if we walk forward or back, we cannot take those steps back. There is a finite number of steps to a life but that doesn't really matter in the end. Getting further down the road is not as important as the number of laughs you enjoyed in the walk.

People strive to be the ultimate master or the ultimate submissive but there is no such thing. There is only the best you can be. If you are true to yourself in your journey you have achieved perfection. Perfection is not the lack of mistakes. Mistakes are how we learn thus the lack of mistakes is stagnation. Perfection is never making the same mistake twice. It is learning from each thing in our life, being open to the lessons taught.

It is the belief that one more piece of knowledge, one more idea understood will illuminate it all and give us a clear picture that keeps us moving. We always strive for just that little bit more that will make everything make sense. The fact is it doesn't make sense in one way, it all makes perfect sense in another.

Imagine how many paths you cross in your journey, how many peoples journeys you become part of. The crossroads of our journeys are every step, the choices we make are every single step of our lives. No small wonder it looks confusing each day. But if look back and it forms a pattern behind us, a web of our lives from which each idea hangs in place.

This is the reality of it all. That what we know and where we have been defines where we are and where will go and can go tomorrow. Sometimes we must back track and redefine our path. Some times we can leap forward. In the end though, it is how much we enjoyed it all that matters. How was your trip?

There is no destination, only the journey. Each step should be rejoiced and held as special. Each tidbit learned, celebrated as the philosophers stone. There is no dress rehearsal. The show is live and on the air now. This is life. Enjoy your trip.
