The Branding of slave english! Part 2

Branding

On December 31st , slave english was accepted as a permanent slave and was branded!

:: Branding ::

For hundreds if not thousands of years, people have been using fire to scar designs on their skin. Whether practiced as part of a coming-of-age ritual, after a first birth or kill, or simply for aesthetic value, brands have always been a major component of body modification.

In modern times we are most familiar with fraternity brands and the slave brands of SM practice, brands which show allegiance and mark ownership. Due to the combination of fire and perceived intensity of pain, branding has a special place in the modern psyche as an ordeal to be endured and revered. The smell of burning human flesh triggers an instinctive realization that something important is going on.

Recently, some people are harnessing this intensity of purpose to create rituals of their own making; using branding to illustrate their personal values and to swear abeyance to their own direction. What was once a symbol of membership to a kin group has become, for some, the recognition of membership to a community of onešs own choosing. Rather than demonstrating subservience to a higher master, branding can also be the pronouncement of mastery over one's self.

Whether initiated for the sense of empowerment they can deliver, or simply for the aesthetics of coolly textured skin, brands make a powerful and permanent statement.

Many different methods of branding exist, so it is wise to check with several practitioners to find someone creating the type of results you want. Also consider that many people get branded for the experience of the procedure as well as the final outcome, so take your personal feelings about the experience into account when choosing a method and practitioner.

At our shop, we do both strike and cautery pen branding. Strike branding is the traditional method of heating pieces of metal (stainless steel) in a flame and pressing them quickly against the skin to create a burn. Each line or curve is a separate piece ("iron"), so one design may consist of many separate strikes with different irons. Any strikes done will spread to about three times the width of the original iron, so this method allows the lines to be spaced far enough apart that they will grow into the desired design, rather than into a large blob. This also allows for completely custom work: no flash, no preexisting irons. The design is totally of your own making.

The other method of branding we use is cautery pen branding. A cautery pen is like a pen with a red hot tip. With this tool, we can actually just "draw" your design on. This method is great for creating fine line, smaller or more detailed brands, or for branding into tattoos. It can also be used to produce larger, more dramatic pieces similar to strike brands, but its real forte is in the detail. Again, all work is original; you bring in your ideas, we discuss them with you and decide exactly what you would like.

With branding, as with any other body modification, you should think seriously before beginning any work. This can be a very intense experience. Be sure, and make it as rewarding as possible.
