Mummification, Larks Head Style

by MorTis

Needed: 1 Victim with a body, and allot of rope, 200-400 ft in total. I usually use ten 40 ft ropes to do this.

There are several ways to mummify a person. This style is using rope with a series of larks heads. I usually do rope mummification while the bottom is laying down on a floor or bed, working from the feet up to the chest. You can do it while there standing up, but there is a change they will fall over if they lose balance. Also expect this to take some time, it can take up to an hour to do, and should be able to stay in it for hours without a problem.

Step 1: Take your rope, grab the tails, and work your way to the middle to create a fold, called the bight.

Step 2: Place the bight between the ankles.

Step 3: Wrap the rope around both legs and back back to the bight.

Step 4: Take the tails, and pull them through the bight, thus making a larks head around both legs.

Step 5: Now wrap the rope just above the first band, going around in the opposite direction till you get back the the larks head you first just created. Keeping the rope nice and tight is very important, otherwise the bands of rope will fold over each other.

Step 6: Pull the tails through creating a new larks head, and keep the rope very snug. The part that made up the end of the first larks head is going to become the beginning of the larks head for the second larks head. Pull the tail through the second bight, and wrap around the body the opposite way.

Step 6: Now every time you create a new larks head, you want to make sure its neat and tight. Keep repeating this as many times as you need too. Your not going to be able to do a mummification with just one rope. So you going to have to weave one in.

Step 7: When you finish pulling the tails through the last larks head you can create with your first rope, you want to crate a half hitch or square knot to tie it off.

Step 8: weave another rope into the first. Take the second rope, make a bight, slip the bite through the last larks head, then pull the tails through the bite. Then wrap you rope around the body towards the way the larks head series is. (i.e. if the larks head weave is on the right side of the larks head series, you would want to go left with the rope to continue to wrap around using that and the first part of the next larks head.)

Step 9: repeat steps 5-8 as many times as you have too, till you get up to the top of the chest.

Step 10: When you finish pulling the tails through the last larks head you can create with your first rope, you want to crate a half hitch or square knot to tie it off.
